Upcoming climbing trips
I have never touched an ice axe (until recently when a nice postman knocked my door and handed me a brown package full of gear goodies!) but when I get fixated with something, things tend to move quite fast. I’ve already ordered myself these ice climbing goods and I’ll be doing my ice climbing course next week on the 26th.
- Petzl Nomic Ice Axes
- Petzl Lynx crampons
- Kayland M11+ shoes
Practice makes perfect so I started to plan some ice climbing trips as well and luckily Finland has some good spots.
8.2 to 10.2 I’ll be climbing in Valkeala which is located in Kouvola and which I’ve heard is a good spot for beginners. Going there with @JuhoKnuuttila and @valppaus.
1.3 to 5.3 I’m at the famous Korouoma located in Northern Lapland. I snapped the video below from Adventure Partners website which pretty much shows why Korouoma is a great place to go ice climbing. I’ll be accompanied with @LinonXtreme and @JuhoKnuuttila

You are the only other climber I’ve met who has Kayland M11+ boots–not sure why, they’re great! The Nomics are good axes too.
Great to hear that. Have not tested them in ice climbing yet but that is about to change on the 26th!
